>allied with the us to take on ussr
Of course they outlasted them they're our greatest non conventional ally
Do you have any idea how fucker either nation would be if the other fell
After tiananmen relations did somewhat sour
Implying the sinonsoviet split didn't end with the Chinese changing sides
They didn't really have anyone
Opportune alliances =/= outright ones
Alliances are fickle as it is
True, but I'd say us britbong ties and close than us China ones
On a social and military level of course
But economically
I dunno
Eh
America is a big chunk but it's only 1/5th of China's exports
Implying exports are the basis of economy
We secure their trade
We both influence one another control of the global markets
We have each others backs while still competing ruthlessly all the while
If one were to fall the other would likely be crushed in depression
Ehhh
I mean, they are building bases to secure their own routes, and they are seeking a naval route replacement with OBOR
The world market isn't about transportation routes
It's about getting people to buy your wares
By a multitude of factors
Winkity wink
The routes are pretty important
Indeed
But that's not what need us for
I mean, American brands are already moving to Vietnam or India for cheaper goods
They are shaping themselves up to be a smart economy by developing and absorbing technology
The same way the Germans are going too
They want the big tech, they are already gunning for CPUs and other components to be design and produced in their own country
With political instability in america we may even see major mergers in the potential future
Not saying baidu might buy Google someday, but their recent spat in internal affairs seems to indicate not all is well
Wanna make out
I'm lonely
I need love
Gimme some of that sino long time adoration
Wut
Wot
