I wouldn't give a 7/10 to most series
it feels very cheap
@l3x dont understand me wrong, many, many people say the same, that they liked the short stories but but the saga was somewhat way worse
it's just I don't see a single actual reason why would you argue some, I don't see any lesser quality in writing the saga
like, i'd be ashamed to market such a let-down as hard as netflix is doing right now
it's just a different form
i dislike the destiny/bloodlines aspects alot, they feel so forced
and boring
muh destiny
the magic does look cheap, but I can enjoy watching television theater whey thay have props cut out of cardboard and painted lightbulbs to produce special effects
when people argue that short stories are good and the saga I just don't see them raising any valid point at all <:thonking:318673885497262091>
(like old dr who)
it feels super cheap, and the vfx are often direct-to-video movie tier
>it feels very cheap
the budget is rather high the thing is they went straight into the magic and the big magic, its a big drain on the budget PLUS witcher is a high fantasy universe and you need that cgi practically everywhere
my only gripes with saga: ciri is an OP OC fanfic tier(donut steel), and the whole destiny crap
and the dialogue is awful
super naive and/or fake
the fight scenes were good, with infrequent cuts
netflix 2/10, books 8/10, gaems 7/10
>books 8/10
but the "destiny" in saga is well founded and not really forced it doesn't appear that often, it's well founded because there's a neatly done historical background to it(the elvish prophecy) and also the "scientific" aspect of the bloodline
lol
the author goes quite in depth into that and the pieces are revealed step by step over the saga
so yeah i dont see writing mistakes as such
thing is, i mean to read it again
has someone finally translated into english, but professionally
i love all the neat details in witcher books with the songs, prophecy, "encyclopedic" definitions
i read the early en translation
which is horrible
also i loved vilgefortz : )
hmm idk
havent even seen it in english
my favourite thing about the books, that it has the tolkien's middle-earth feeling, that the world is changing
the old magic is nearing its end
my favourite aspect is that the world is grey
like the part where the sorceress has a dream with a witcher, in the forest
how she calls him geralt
> my favourite aspect is that the world is grey
lmao
and he says that geralt is long dead
