yeah alright fair enough
@Deleted User how do you feel about Brexit?
alright if you dont want to discuss politics 🤷
i mean tldr uk gets fucked on both sides by brexit
idea behind it is good because on paper uk is getting fucked and can't cater to itself well
but its all loophole BS now
there was no plan behind brexit at all
like I'm pretty sure the EU still has to approve shit anyways
so its not like brexit is happening anymore than before
brexit is a good idea executed super poorly
I think its based on false premises and also basically pointless UNLESS you really care so much for formal national sovereignty
but thats like politics 101
what about a second pool? is it still an option?
what makes it a good idea? I don't see a single serious argument for it
>what about a second pool? is it still an option?
its being talked about all the time
its an option if the parliament goes for it
it's all not very well thought out i'm afraid
pro-Brexit politicians all have very, very simplified view of politics
19th century-like
the idea behind brexit was good, like economically wise. Our trade deals are super shit and it would force them to actually redo a lot of it
the actual act of leaving the EU is whatever
i'd say you are (or rather were) undeservedly privileged in the eu, maybe not in terms of trade deals per se but otherwise
who gets to keep their currency
and being a ocean locked nation trade more important than normal since were too small to make half the shit we need
we are like the poor man america in a way
they have good economic deals with china, tiawan, ect that benefit both greatly
meanwhile anytime anything tries to get changed locally get memed by the EU
cause they want a cut
fam
apropos of deals with china, i've heard you've managed to score a nice deal with china in 1997
I don't know if you are aware of it, but EU is setting global standards on trade
it's the worlds greatest trading bloc
and you benefit from it as well
UK and EU are basically inseperable I honestly doubt that you won't remain in the single market
if you do you'll regret that
i honestly don't get brexit, as in - i think i do but if so then it's just so _stupid_
can it be that simple
I get that 'island nation' stuff and making trade deals worldwide, but for you, Europe is the most important trading partner
and you should recognise that
also look at Canada, Australia, New Zealand
