america has no registration of guns, so theres no means to know who has what for one. Secondly, you also have the fact that most gun owning Americans aren't just going to give them away like Australians did for examples. So this is just going to create a huge black market for which there is no reasonable means to go against.

also the 6-7 mass shootings a week is a meme, its mostly gang violence because those statistics use any shooting in which 3 or more people are involved which is usually drug related
