To do machine learning later.

2019-02-07 20:45:20 UTC

Yeah, in the first year

2019-02-07 20:45:24 UTC

Two ofthem

2019-02-07 20:45:27 UTC

Math 1 and Math 2

2019-02-07 20:45:30 UTC

basically no math in machine learning

2019-02-07 20:45:31 UTC

But in political studies lol that's funny

2019-02-07 20:45:37 UTC

I failed both of them in the first year and passed the next year

2019-02-07 20:45:46 UTC

@rogalik are you kidding me, that's filled with maths

2019-02-07 20:45:50 UTC

If it wasn't for those Fs, my GPA would be above 3.5

2019-02-07 20:46:00 UTC

Now it's 3

2019-02-07 20:46:16 UTC

Absolutely rarted

2019-02-07 20:48:24 UTC

theres linear algebra and probability in ML, not analysis, anyway its not a math heavy field there is no math theory yet although there have been some developments recently

2019-02-07 20:48:29 UTC

ML for now is guessing

2019-02-07 20:48:48 UTC

its a black box, you cant explain why and how neural networks really work

2019-02-07 20:49:02 UTC

(the ideal thing for dumb engineers <:haha:318675605233336330> )

2019-02-07 20:49:20 UTC

>I failed both of them in the first year and passed the next year
prob they did like statistics course thats why

2019-02-07 20:49:32 UTC

maybe didnt call it like that

2019-02-07 20:49:36 UTC

but statistics oriented

2019-02-07 20:49:41 UTC

>linear algebra
literal basic school tier

2019-02-07 20:49:43 UTC

i had a math course like that on biology as well

2019-02-07 20:49:46 UTC

Nah, we had separate Statistics courses, passed them both in first try

2019-02-07 20:49:54 UTC

jesus

2019-02-07 20:49:56 UTC

thats just idiotic

2019-02-07 20:50:01 UTC

These were just rarted and useless math classes

2019-02-07 20:50:24 UTC

>imposing math on humanities

2019-02-07 20:50:30 UTC

To understand probability you must know calculus very well, so I would say it has a lot of maths. Compared to other programming fields like web design or something.

2019-02-07 20:50:42 UTC

Which have none.

2019-02-07 20:50:48 UTC

>To understand probability you must know calculus very well

2019-02-07 20:50:50 UTC

?!?!

2019-02-07 20:50:58 UTC

Because it uses calculus.

2019-02-07 20:51:02 UTC

i dont think you understand either probability or calculus

2019-02-07 20:51:11 UTC

lol

2019-02-07 20:51:12 UTC

ok

2019-02-07 20:51:48 UTC

i mean

2019-02-07 20:51:50 UTC

ffs

2019-02-07 20:51:57 UTC

its mostly discrete especially in CS applications

2019-02-07 20:52:03 UTC

isnt it ?

2019-02-07 20:53:04 UTC

tbh everything uses calculus <:haha:318675605233336330>

2019-02-07 20:57:35 UTC

2019-02-07 21:00:08 UTC

commie block with extra steps tbh

2019-02-07 21:01:30 UTC

these arent commies at all
