🤔
the magic and superpowers
they still arent too overblown in witcher
Ah, yes, probably
Comparing to some complete shit books they aren't
but of course compared to game of thrones its a different level
but still its a different setting so
I'd say there is nothing wrong with that in witcher
Still muh fireballs and stuff are not interesting to read about. Some... mental magic, rituals, and stuff like this are much more exciting
when you read the books there is a lot of information and lore about those things
even technicalities
so he does make effort to make it "believable"
have you read wiedzmin?
Yes
there arent much fireballs
there are fireballs when they are fighting
Mmm
but thats all really
Well in the big battles for example
There are
and they were well explored in the series
so its not like hurr durr fireballs
Still it was mostly some... "pop" stuff
but anyway about gladiator i watched it and enjoyed it itwas a decent movie with a historical theme
I mean, it's the same magic as in any fantasy computer game.
Like in D&D.
Just not the thing I personally would like to read about in the book.
i dont remember what exactly influenced witcher but those were other fantasy books
i watched gladiator iwth my sis and yeah i sperged out at the emperor fighting the gladiator scene
its outrageous
although that emperor has actually been fighting
@rogalik aha, you may enjoy it until your movie standards get higher and you demand more from the historical movies. For example, if you demand all the characters to show like the "spirit of their ages" demands it.
unfortunately people are ABSOLUTELY not interested in history
Gladiator characters basically behave the same as Kingdom of Heaven characters do. Is it what Ridley Scott's movie about Jerusalem was called in English?
I'd love to see great adaptations of some historical things
but they aren't coming
becasue theres no money
yeahs kingdom of heaven
yeah stereotypical bullshit
They behave like there is medieval Christian morality in ancient Rome. But there isn't. And sense of honor of Romans must've been different.
