the idea behind the swiss system is to measure your overall performance

but you cant measure your overall performance if you didnt play an equal number of white and black

i mean you can, but in swiss you switch colors every 2nd round

if you want more personal matches do round robin or elimination

elimination is hard to pull off if you dont have a power of 2 number of participatns
