So this self sustaining ecosystem thing simply doesnt stand up how would you even come up with that idea? Because we have growing activity for the second month in a row? I've seen more long term data and its evident that if you take out key members its just doesnt work anymore communities of this size aren't self sustaining at all either you constantly deliver fresh energy or they perish if you tell me not to post and bring in new people then we are going to have a 60% hit then another 60% next month and you end up with a server with max 5k monthly posts

imo its not about growth but people who decide to stay here do so because they like it and since they like it they will be content. So the people that need to be pleased are the ones that are on the server and they are pleased because they wouldnt be there otherwise. New members would perhaps dislike the climate and leave, in which case nothing of value was lost since they hadnt contributed to what makes users like the server or they stay and become one with the established culture

and you can always invite people if you want, they will be tested and compared to the current culture dynamically

not because rules hammer something into a perceived idea but because the actual behaviour creates unspoken rules, i.e. culture
