sup
yeah so I'm looking at the website for my local club
Getting into the HAM world can be fun but also expensive
doesn't seem they have classes or anything
Depending on what your goal is
You can self study
they do have a volunteer examiner
there like a online study guide or something?
I guess I could google it
Audible has a good book
was it an easy test?
Yes and no? A few people failed but I don’t think they really studied
It was around 30 questions, not super hard
ok cool
I mean, I'm used to taking tests and shit, sounds like your standard government test
Yeah it’s all radio theory stuff
They’ve changed the test since I took mine but I’d imagine not much
sweet
There are also practice exams online
For bao?
yeah
Nagoya 771 is really good
Been using a abbree or something folding antenna with good success lately
the Baofengs are the cheapest you can go for a halfway decent radio right?
Yup
I wanna be able to buy a few so cheaper is better
They come in 5 packs
yeah
I've seen them in two packs too
That’s what I did and worth it
I only really use 2 of them but the extra batteries and chargers are great
sure
Basically want to keep one in my truck and have another for my plate carrier
few extras for my wife to use in an emergency or whatever
Would suggest running on belt if possible
Probably won't be able to
