In 638, the Rashidun Caliphate allowed Jews to return to Jerusalem after 568 years of exile at the hands of the Roman and Byzantine empires. Jews have throughout their history often lived in Islamic nations, and they were treated much better by Muslims than they were by ethnic Europeans.
