Danzig was german for thousands of years until the defeat of WW1 for some reason gave it to the poles who hadn't once owned the land.

Lebenshraum was the policy of securing german interests within germany, I have a document on my computer about this, but I am not on that right now, but in the document, it was stated that germany planned on setting up a government for russia just as had been done in slovakia, germany wished to secure it's colonies once more, and wanted to secure it's nation which is where the term "breathing space" comes into play, where germany wanted to push back the soviets so that the german nation was secured, not that germany could colonize it.
