I think if a women doesn't want to take care of a child but conceives one a) shes stupid for ignoring the numerous forms of birth control readily available and b) at that point the child should be born and become the communities responsibility to raise as a fellow citizen

trying to convince people of socialism where i live is like pounding your head against a brick wall

cuz i live in a middle-class suburban neighborhood

It's the social aspects that people package with socialism that are unappealing

as most are out of touch with todays generally accepting and socially equal society

The real selling point for any white blue or black collar area is the decay of capitalism and the failing system around them

i always thought of it more as a difficulty of coming to terms with hard, depressing truths about the world we live in

most white families are slowly sinking out of the middle class and are trying to really on old systems which succeeded in the past at giving them reasonable legislature

ie the Republican party and conservatism in general

while simultaneously denying other groups that they dont much care about any say

i.e. the alt right

*care much about

Really the problem with marketing socialism now is the name itself

there are too many pissants who don't know anything about any form of Marxism and just want free stuff

and people who think socialism = they want my toothbrush

that's why i tend to refer to specific ideologies first and socialism/communism later

for example, when i talk about my beliefs, while i believe myself to be a socialist/communist first and a trotskyist second, i still open with the term trotskyism as not to instantly turn people off
