I don't know enough about them to form an educated opinion.

Well, from what's obviously apparent, a mixture of nationalism and bolshevism.

In my opinion, that alone seems good.

As far back as I can tell, no "communist" dictator was ever loved by his people, but then as we know, true communism was never tried.

No "true" system can really be tried. It will always develop into something else.
