Both very robust institutions
Army's Ft. Benning Infantry School and the Marine Corps SoI
Having that solid foundation in small unit tactics and infantry combat makes a world of difference when you are trying to make a special operator
It's like building a house
Solid foundations and fundamentals
The navy and air force often struggle with this as their basic trainings have no such thing
Sailors and airmen fire a gun like once
And someone holds it for them
In basic/boot
Marines and soldiers have to learn how to fire and maneuver from the start
Damn
Sounds bitchy of their part
Which creates problems in af and usn special ops
Their new operator recruits are basically building all these cool skills without solid fundamentals
Building a house without laying foundation downn
Now it can work out sure, but it's never going to be as good as how the army and the corps treats it
Small food for thought there
The US has the toughest basic training in the world for conventional forces
That helps more than people think
It's not even that hard
But it makes a difference at thr same time
Yes
Having that mindset instilled from day one is immensely helpful
I don't give the corps much but I'll give them this
Their pogs are way better than our pogs
They make all non infantrymen go through MCT which is a boneless combat school
But still a combat school nonetheless
Every marine a rifleman and so on
That's honestly one of the best things they do
Yeah
They have my respect on this
But everything seems broken in mc
yes
but their fundamentals are solid
Yeah
that is the difference here
the navy and air force don't have fundamentals
because why would they need to
doesn't make any sense to spend all that time and money doing that
