I mean

2019-12-17 17:17:51 UTC

I could say like, I'm from a working class family, never really had anything growing up.

2019-12-17 17:18:14 UTC

your working class family is a high class in this shithole my dude

2019-12-17 17:18:15 UTC

That all of my money and components I own are from my own purchases and work.

2019-12-17 17:18:19 UTC

Not my problem

2019-12-17 17:18:25 UTC

Speak to your economy.

2019-12-17 17:18:27 UTC

BR0

2019-12-17 17:18:35 UTC

Yeah, I am not saying you're at fault for it

2019-12-17 17:18:45 UTC

You just assume that I'd even have that much money

2019-12-17 17:19:18 UTC

VR has gotten cheap.

2019-12-17 17:19:25 UTC

"cheap"

2019-12-17 17:19:30 UTC

not cheap enough for me

2019-12-17 17:19:33 UTC

You can build a VR Ready PC and get a HMD for less than £800

2019-12-17 17:19:46 UTC

In here, for 800 you can buy a car

2019-12-17 17:20:27 UTC

Hoppity hippity

2019-12-17 17:20:39 UTC

I'll get VR one day

2019-12-17 17:20:46 UTC

when I am out of this place

2019-12-17 17:21:17 UTC

Get a job with my education, and maybe I'll be succesful, if I try hard enough

2019-12-17 17:21:20 UTC

I do want totry VR, but I'm in no rush and it's only going to get cheaper from here

2019-12-17 17:21:36 UTC

You can get a certified pre-owned vive for less than $400

2019-12-17 17:22:14 UTC

And, the index is backwards compatible with the VIVE. Meaning you can slowly upgrade the controllers, HMD, then the tracking one by one.

2019-12-17 17:22:19 UTC

I don't want to end up with an overpriced underperforming piece of hardware once the industry really gets rolling

2019-12-17 17:22:29 UTC

Well, that's the choice innit.

2019-12-17 17:22:43 UTC

I still own my VIVE, despite having an Index.

2019-12-17 17:23:33 UTC

weren't you the one lecturing me that you're too old to play games and that I am a child because I play minecraft?

2019-12-17 17:23:34 UTC

Yup, and VR isn't enough of a priority for me to bother about it for another few years. I got other shit to play so no reason not to hold on to my money for now

2019-12-17 17:24:03 UTC

Imagine blowing 1000's of $ for gaming equipment <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>

2019-12-17 17:24:18 UTC

Don't think of it like equipment.

2019-12-17 17:24:26 UTC

You have to think of VR like buying a new console.

2019-12-17 17:24:27 UTC

half life alyx is just a money grab to sell index

2019-12-17 17:24:36 UTC

Even if it's a console

2019-12-17 17:25:00 UTC

That's a lot of money, especially when you talk like you're a grownup

2019-12-17 17:25:06 UTC

I did buy a $1500 gaming computer recently, but that's with the expectation that I won't need to spend money on hardware for at least like 5-6 years

2019-12-17 17:25:11 UTC

Here's the thing. $1000 contextually isn't too much. 2080 Supers cost that much, 21:9 monitors cost that much. Those things **FLEW** off of shelves when they released.

2019-12-17 17:25:15 UTC

Index sold out in 3 countries

2019-12-17 17:25:19 UTC

Although tracking is old tech PSVR is actually pretty great

2019-12-17 17:25:27 UTC

sure mate

2019-12-17 17:25:33 UTC

Sure, lots of people will impulse spend a grand

2019-12-17 17:25:41 UTC

Doesn't make it a good decision
