Well at least one wanted to gtfo china and was using college to help get a visa
dunno where he went after last year hope it works out for him
But here's my confused bit
I went to Ireland for a month. In Galway.
they're taking journalism/media classes in North America, then returning to China
*the fuck are those skills gonna help you with*
It be pretty weird for me to go to Northern Ireland Cause I prefer being more on the English side
Granted some of the skills are more general media/talking/editing skills
Then working around the Irish lol
but for real, why take north american journalism skills and learn all those ethics (we do get taught ethics, the industry just threw them away in the last 15 years)
It's probably just to have the name of the university on their resume
and then go back to fucking china
it costs so much money to come all the way ehre
only to go back
Maybe cause there like college students and don’t actually care to use those skills?
Doing a year abroad is pretty swag in China
They are just there to take up space
Well, those who come aren't exactly poor
But ya know college see big dollar signs so please me china people come in
We had a syrian lady in her early 30s try and use a quotation from a relevant source for her story... but the quote was **five years old**
one of your first rules is **get your own quotes**
even if you see quotes in someone else's paper, try and reach the source yourself to verify in case that paper misconstrued
one of our instructors had to nearly force her to call the guy herself
Turns out the guy had a way more interesting bit of information than what she was stealing
:|
I go back during the first few months of each semester to be an extra pair of hands for the instructors
they need it
Do you get alot of Chinese that go into the medical field then just fly back to China?
Would you think you put that investment and expect getting something out of it societally besides the college earning a few bucks?
Unclear
I've only taken college for journalism and media
and that building is far from main campus
What do you mean unclear lol
You teach them a valuable skill
the main campus out in the county has 90% of the programs of the college
Then they take said skill and fuck off
the journalism building is downtown, and a block away is film/media/art
Like being a doctor
Most of the sciences are across town
so I don't have experience/knowledge about international students there
