I mean people saying atheist have no morals and all this other shit. I was never super big on all that shit when I was growing up though I was 8 years old when I realized either god didn't exists or he didn't care and therefore did not matter.

2019-12-11 15:13:16 UTC

Well it did it made people bitter at the previous world view

2019-12-11 15:13:43 UTC

Well obviously you didn’t have a hand in it

2019-12-11 15:14:09 UTC

But in the 90s and 2000s atheists did cause a great deal of contention against Christianity

2019-12-11 15:14:17 UTC

But now they have Islam

2019-12-11 15:14:22 UTC

It was stupid, people will believe what they want and you cannot take that away from them, you cannot force people to logic.

2019-12-11 15:14:31 UTC

So did their efforts really spring to anything that great?

2019-12-11 15:15:12 UTC

we're arguing about which murderous ideology is better

2019-12-11 15:15:19 UTC

instead of whose murderous church is better

2019-12-11 15:15:20 UTC

so no

2019-12-11 15:15:31 UTC

I'm talking more long-term

2019-12-11 15:15:33 UTC

gotta maintain that K/D tho

2019-12-11 15:15:38 UTC

not just 90s-2000s

2019-12-11 15:15:40 UTC

That is what I am saying it was pointless, nothing was gained, or more so that anything that was gained was far overshadowed by the loss.

2019-12-11 15:16:11 UTC

Exactly they unmoored society too haphazardly

2019-12-11 15:16:25 UTC

People will naturally rebel to change, especially when you are trying to force a change in ingrained thinking.

2019-12-11 15:16:48 UTC

Again was the change the atheists got inherianrly good for society?

2019-12-11 15:16:49 UTC

realizing that is how you redpill out of fascism tbh

2019-12-11 15:16:53 UTC

In some ways sure

2019-12-11 15:17:01 UTC

In some ways obviously not

2019-12-11 15:17:21 UTC

took me pretty much one year to figure that out annoyingly enough

2019-12-11 15:17:29 UTC

14 yr old me was cringe

2019-12-11 15:18:00 UTC

I think if people want to do good, moral speeches are the worst way to enact change, look at climate change

2019-12-11 15:18:39 UTC

Ya. Cause handing politicians money and saying trust them while they give it to a bunch of warlords doesn’t stoke much confidence anything will change.

2019-12-11 15:18:47 UTC

i wouldnt describe greta as a moral speech though, moreso just reeeeeing

2019-12-11 15:18:51 UTC

You cannot tell people "You are wrong, dumb, and terrible people" for any reason and have them think of cool, thanks for letting me know I will change.

2019-12-11 15:18:58 UTC

moral speeches are often charged with an air of self-aggrandizement

2019-12-11 15:19:04 UTC

and self-appeasement

2019-12-11 15:19:19 UTC

true, but ~~some~~ most people dont realize that still

2019-12-11 15:19:35 UTC

I mean, hey, I've fallen for that trap before

2019-12-11 15:19:35 UTC

She is trying to appeal to morality "think of the children" IS a moral argument.

2019-12-11 15:19:53 UTC

I mean who hasn’t we’re human lol

2019-12-11 15:19:57 UTC

yep

2019-12-11 15:20:05 UTC

Just gotta detach as much as you can

2019-12-11 15:20:07 UTC

strictly true but im using the definition as a quality bar

2019-12-11 15:20:23 UTC

there are some moral speeches that are high quality

2019-12-11 15:20:25 UTC

Sad how much you have to actually numb your brain to not be a slave to emotion

2019-12-11 15:20:34 UTC

Which is what the crazies seem to not do

2019-12-11 15:20:51 UTC

it's a hard balance to be sure

2019-12-11 15:20:58 UTC

I can't stand to stroke myself off over other people though, I can't stand shit like that, is dehumanizing at worst at best it's moral grandstanding.

2019-12-11 15:21:26 UTC

moral argument > moral speech
