There's nothing wrong with uniformity in social behavior, when it's determined individually, @lancelout, as people adopt or phase out social behavior across time, which unfolds in accordance with utility gains. Your example is a bit too simplistic to render an answer to your question. Who are you spanking, why? Is there a rational alternative? Why would you opt for that, instead? What's your intent? Outside of these questions, I believe we'd all agree that you'd be exercising force against someone, more broadly, but let's say you're a fine gent, and a woman enjoys the attention, you might not have to deal with the consequences someone else would otherwise be subject. It's not really a matter of whether or not society approves or disapproves, in free societies, where individuals are enabled to self-organize and determine and interpret behavior according to their own utility, rather than that of the State. In free societies you'll find behavior is often regulated by the rationality of each individual, not merely society writ large. Uniformity, as an extension of this, may give the appearance of a collective regulation of your behavior, however, but I see it as the inverse in free societies.
