I mean to be fair it is very much justified, apu and honkler are different in many ways from the original pepe. I don't mean to look too far into a meme, but they have different spirits and reasons for existing. Apu is comfy and autistic, honkler is chaotic, and pepe is just there for the feels or to piss people off.
