Turning Point is an actual joke
lol
Consider the following
saw someone unironically post this
no one tell them about the Golden Age
@Deli.v2 eh
Not much compared to European achievement
doesn't matter, their point still falls
i would say it is
@Ater Votum compared to European achievements? How?
8th century explosives
lads
@The Desert Fox V uhhh... Algebra is pretty important
We also use their number system
The Golden Age was largely done by Persians. Because of Arab expansion Arabic became more of a common language in more regions thus it created cooperations between different people
Algebra was made by Persians
Also, the Golden Age essentially sparked because it stemmed from a translation movement of Greek, Persian, and Hindu documents.
Persians were already conquered by Muslims by then
Yeah and it arguably benefitted them because they got to speak with Greeks in Arabic
Of course
It's also why it's called the Islamic golden age
Not the Arabic golden age
Certainly
Wasn't the Arabic golden age based off of already done works that they translated?
Anyway, algebra is somewhat important, but it if it didn't stop them from getting conquered it isn't too important
It sparked from a translation movement, yes.
To be frank, I wouldn’t mind Roman numerals, anyway.
Not that difficult to read them.
There was no Arabic golden age really.
But yes alot was from old manuscripts they were allowed to keep.
Up to 90% is said to have been discarded or destroyed because it served no purpose in islam
The Islamists also destroyed much of the landscape in Spain and Algeria.
Roman numerals are good
Honestly the invading armies into Hispania was savage and cowardice.
No one was spared and the pillaging was horendous.
Traditionally religious sites like churches were used to house the people who had no intend on fighting but the muslims did not care and instead slaughtered anyone they could find.
There were even cases of people being put into giant cooking pots and scalded alive in the boiling waters.
@Autumnpost 🎃 progs never talk about this, but then they complain about the spanish inquisition and crusades!
This is only the tip of the iceberg.
Just guess who let the armies into the Iberian peninsula to begin with

The Spanish Inquisition is an overblown event.
Yeah I agree that religious persecution is not the wisest option and I am mostly against it but the inquisition was largely having torture and no death. Death was very rare.
"Roman Numerals are good"
