<@&588707615643795456> Daily Question 🔖
- What is your opinion on congregational churches? Not necessarily Protestants, just the concept of congregationalist churches.
Congregationalism is generally not well-practiced imo. Especially when the divisions are over silly things but it does help to give people with certain preferences a place to worship and grow so as long as there is no heresy involved I guess it's okay.
Congregational churches, as a concept alone, are fine with me. Any group of people can start a church and worship the Lord, and since there is currently no *absolute* correct interpretation it's really up to who has more influence to push their narrative
@Oboe I think Baptists do it well
SBC?
SBC is getting pretty cringe
How
They're a dying congregation
My church joined SBC a few years ago
and they are drifting closer to liberalization iirc
Baptists are so variable it's hard to say
I still think SBC is still the most general conservatives over other Protestant groups
Most Baptist churches I have visited are traditional in doctrine
Might be a bit biased because all the ones I have been to are Slavic Baptists
Baptist churches can get pretty bad at times but that's just because the definition of baptist is loose
that and even traditional baptists can be very problematic if they are dispies
there is one correct interpretation
the East Orthodox interpretation
the Bible was written with only one meaning in mind
@Oboe dispies?
dispensationalists
zionists
Ah
@Oboe Agreed, but otherwise the traditional Baptists are fairly good
