As far as I’m concerned Jesus was a pretty cool philosopher with some good ideas. Problem is people blew everything out of proportion and instead of loving their neighbor they started hypergenociding them for not agreeing with Jesus.

this is jesus telling his disciples to buy swords

because

as we all know jesus to be god he is therefore omniscient

so he knew how christians would be and still are persecuted

so he is telling us to be ready for war at any moment

to fight for our faith

and to fight in the name of god

this is why the crusades were justified

as a christian we must fight everyone who denies christs divinity

So how I read that is that Jesus just wanted to fill a quota in order to say the prophecy is being fulfilled @Veritas
