Zebras in the more southern range of Africa have stripes that fade down to white as well as *shadow stripes* those varying dark stripes in between.

I just noticed that their manes are beautiful too, what a lovely way for it to blend in their shorter fur by also being stripe-esque. Makes me think of Frankenstein's bride
