This one the head exploded a bit when it was fired though oof

2019-07-30 05:03:51 UTC

I ended up just rolling with it and using glaze to glue the pieces of forehead back on which actually kinda worked tbh

I don’t have any experience in ceramics, is it like hand-sculpted spinning wheels?

2019-07-30 05:04:13 UTC

No spinning wheels lol

2019-07-30 05:04:40 UTC

The thing pots are made on, I don’t know what they’re called

2019-07-30 05:04:42 UTC

For masks I would take a hunk of newspaper and shape it vaguely to what I needed, make it really hard to use as a bit of a mold I guess? Not sure the proper wording

2019-07-30 05:04:51 UTC

I dont know either, I didnt do many pots

2019-07-30 05:04:52 UTC

LOL

2019-07-30 05:05:05 UTC

I just built up around some newspaper on that one

2019-07-30 05:05:32 UTC

I should have thinned out the forehead though because it ended up getting really thick. And then there's the obvious anatomical mistakes I didnt understand back then but I am still kinda proud of it for being in highschool at the time

2019-07-30 05:07:04 UTC

I think if I were to make a mask of ceramics or clay, it would be far more angular, almost as if the art style for Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure were on an actual facr

2019-07-30 05:07:21 UTC

Then again, I like angular things

2019-07-30 05:07:56 UTC

I like angular stuff as well, I'd only done ceramics for a year though

2019-07-30 05:08:13 UTC

Made me kinda sad because I was getting better and better. Buuuut I'll be able to do it again soon.

2019-07-30 05:08:20 UTC

Gonna have to relearn though

2019-07-30 05:09:11 UTC

That was one of the last things I did before I graduated, I think.

2019-07-30 05:09:46 UTC

Here's an old drawing from the same time though

2019-07-30 05:11:04 UTC

Apparently a newer version

2019-07-30 05:11:44 UTC

I need to get back into doing more traditional stuff tbh

2019-07-30 05:12:10 UTC

Nice, I couldn’t even dream of drawing stuff like that

2019-07-30 05:12:33 UTC

I doubt that's true, anyone can draw given enough time

2019-07-30 05:12:44 UTC

Besides I still have glaring issues with anatomy as it stands 4 years later

2019-07-30 05:12:47 UTC

😅

2019-07-30 05:14:32 UTC

For some reason when I do studies things turn out mostly normal. But as soon as I start trying to apply that to a drawing with clothes or anything added it falls apart

2019-07-30 05:16:18 UTC

My problem is a scaling issue, hands are twice the size of the head, and fatter than the Pillsbury Dough Boy

2019-07-30 05:17:18 UTC

I have a rigged drawing reference in blender that I take screenshots with, but even with that, accessories like guns, weapons and armour are hard to draw for me

2019-07-30 05:17:24 UTC

I have a hard time with perspective and keeping the whole picture in mind

2019-07-30 05:17:38 UTC

If it’s not a diagram I have a hard time drawing it

2019-07-30 05:17:55 UTC

Yeahhh

2019-07-30 05:18:10 UTC

Weapon diagrams are fun though

2019-07-30 05:18:34 UTC

When I try to stray from references I start fucking up immediately and I always underestimate things like foreshortening. It would help if I focused on getting better at art, but I like to do everything at once

2019-07-30 05:19:28 UTC

Like, I like learning instruments, photography, mycology (And ecology), and I wanna do them all at once and I wont master anything as a result <.<

2019-07-30 05:22:22 UTC

I’m pretty much the other way around, I tend to focus on one thing and one thing only until I get bored of it or inturrupted

2019-07-30 05:22:29 UTC

oof

2019-07-30 05:22:45 UTC

I feel like a failure of an autist in that regard

2019-07-30 05:22:55 UTC

Granted I do tunnel vision on stuff but... it's lots of stuff

2019-07-30 05:23:21 UTC

... I forgot other things like hiking and camping and my massive rock collection and other stuff.
