Yeah, there’s also the fact that sometimes you learn things as you go so when you restart, you can put those things into practice early-on
That too
Knowing how to set pivot points to the active element helped so goddamned much when making the dome shape
This was 4 years ago. I really miss doing ceramics
This one the head exploded a bit when it was fired though oof
I ended up just rolling with it and using glaze to glue the pieces of forehead back on which actually kinda worked tbh
I don’t have any experience in ceramics, is it like hand-sculpted spinning wheels?
No spinning wheels lol
The thing pots are made on, I don’t know what they’re called
For masks I would take a hunk of newspaper and shape it vaguely to what I needed, make it really hard to use as a bit of a mold I guess? Not sure the proper wording
I dont know either, I didnt do many pots
LOL
I just built up around some newspaper on that one
I should have thinned out the forehead though because it ended up getting really thick. And then there's the obvious anatomical mistakes I didnt understand back then but I am still kinda proud of it for being in highschool at the time
I think if I were to make a mask of ceramics or clay, it would be far more angular, almost as if the art style for Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure were on an actual facr
Then again, I like angular things
I like angular stuff as well, I'd only done ceramics for a year though
Gonna have to relearn though
That was one of the last things I did before I graduated, I think.
Here's an old drawing from the same time though
Apparently a newer version
I need to get back into doing more traditional stuff tbh
Nice, I couldn’t even dream of drawing stuff like that
I doubt that's true, anyone can draw given enough time
Besides I still have glaring issues with anatomy as it stands 4 years later
😅
For some reason when I do studies things turn out mostly normal. But as soon as I start trying to apply that to a drawing with clothes or anything added it falls apart
My problem is a scaling issue, hands are twice the size of the head, and fatter than the Pillsbury Dough Boy
I have a rigged drawing reference in blender that I take screenshots with, but even with that, accessories like guns, weapons and armour are hard to draw for me
I have a hard time with perspective and keeping the whole picture in mind
If it’s not a diagram I have a hard time drawing it
Yeahhh
Weapon diagrams are fun though
When I try to stray from references I start fucking up immediately and I always underestimate things like foreshortening. It would help if I focused on getting better at art, but I like to do everything at once
Like, I like learning instruments, photography, mycology (And ecology), and I wanna do them all at once and I wont master anything as a result <.<
