Businesses don't like that because it makes it too easy for confidential data to be stolen.

2017-02-19 16:13:12 UTC

obviously.

2017-02-19 16:17:57 UTC

OpenDNS is a good choice but in my option not the best OpenNIC I think is a lot better

2017-02-19 16:18:33 UTC

As long as it's not Google DNS.

2017-02-19 16:19:11 UTC

repizon is a twink

2017-02-19 16:20:35 UTC

True but if you don't care about privacy of someone watching you (like nearly everyone that uses facebook and that shit) then google is a pretty good choice

2017-02-19 16:21:05 UTC

That could be suitable for things like game consoles, or other small portable systems.

2017-02-19 16:22:28 UTC

Or a smartphone

2017-02-19 16:22:40 UTC

True but to change DNS settings you have to jump through hoops and bonds so most people can't give a fuck even on game consoles

2017-02-19 16:23:04 UTC

At your home, you just have to do it once. On the router and then everything connected to it will use it.

2017-02-19 16:23:18 UTC

You only have to set it manually on devices you'll bring somewhere else.

2017-02-19 16:25:17 UTC

True, but my ISP (for example) made it nearly impossible to change DNS settings on the router they send and I think most ISP will go that way and not many people want to go out and buy a new one if they not going to use it

2017-02-19 16:25:45 UTC

Little choice with mine. You'll sorely regret not getting your own.

2017-02-19 16:26:26 UTC

For an ISP they have exceptional service. But nothing's perfect. And their flaw is that everything physical they give you, from hardware to any kind of cable, is of terrible quality.

2017-02-19 16:26:46 UTC

HDMI cables they give you ***WILL***fail.

2017-02-19 16:27:00 UTC

Not *might*, they ***will***

2017-02-19 16:27:45 UTC

So will anything else. Ethernet cables, coaxial cables, modems, routers, cable boxes, remotes, etc.

2017-02-19 16:28:22 UTC

Yeah I get what your saying but most people are like it just works so what the point

2017-02-19 16:28:37 UTC

I've never really had anything like that fail on me yet

2017-02-19 16:28:38 UTC

I opted to get a TIVO from their partnership instead of one of their own cable boxes for that reason.

2017-02-19 16:28:44 UTC

The modem and router are mine.

2017-02-19 16:28:50 UTC

All the cables are mine.

2017-02-19 16:29:12 UTC

Never had a problem with the TiVO like I did with the cable box they had me using before.

2017-02-19 16:29:27 UTC

I don't know what it is about them that causes all their hardware to be shit.

2017-02-19 16:29:47 UTC

their service is some of the best in the whole country otherwise.

2017-02-19 16:30:00 UTC

Money simple as that

2017-02-19 16:30:26 UTC

They don't want to spend much on you they don't care they just want your money

2017-02-19 16:30:32 UTC

That's just it. they're insanely dedicated to have high quality, top end service.

2017-02-19 16:30:47 UTC

They're going to give their entire service area gigabit internet by the end of the year.

2017-02-19 16:30:52 UTC

At least they say they will.

2017-02-19 16:31:14 UTC

If they do they'll create the largest gigabit service area in the nation.

2017-02-19 16:32:07 UTC

Hmm well they spend so much on the lines and shit. I guess they need to make shortcuts somewhere

2017-02-19 16:32:50 UTC

They claim they're not going to signifcantly change their prices for gigabit speeds and that it'll be their base service in upgraded areas and that they intend to bring it to every area they service.

2017-02-19 16:34:22 UTC

Yup and that will cost buckets full of money so yeah I see why some of the other products might be shit

2017-02-19 16:35:44 UTC

Ugh....

2017-02-19 16:36:10 UTC

Skyrim SE was crashing on loading a save so I tried a clean install and then cutting back on some of the mods I have installed.

2017-02-19 16:36:24 UTC

**NOW** it crashes on loading the main menu.

2017-02-19 16:38:21 UTC

RIP have you tried restarting your machine?

2017-02-19 16:39:18 UTC

I have.

2017-02-19 16:39:31 UTC

I wouldn't be complaining if the simple fixes didn't work.

2017-02-19 16:39:36 UTC

that reminded me of every tech support call ever
