I tried playing The Sims 3 for the first time on this new gaming PC. The good news is it runs buttery smooth with no lag or any other performance hiccups with all graphics settings maxed. The bad news is that absolutely everything in the game is outragously bright. To the point I can't really see much of anything. And a lot of details are washed out. Like how it'd look to you if you stared at a very bright light for a minute and then try to see anything.

Doesn't that game have color settings
No.
No, if it was that everything would be messed up, not one game.
SweetFX is the only solution I can think of.
I haven't played the game in years, wish I could help. That's a weird bug though
I had a graphics bug in Dragon Age Origins too. That didn't happen on my last PC. Despite this one being an excellent one with a very good graphics card.
In that one, I got the worst screen tearing I'd ever seen. And not the kind where you have to squint to even tell there was any there, but there being a huge corner-to-corner line that was always there.
SweetFX fixed that.
You could try using older drivers for your gpu
I've had varying degrees of good and bad with that
Other games run fine. I won't cripple it for just one game. Not when SweetFX could fix it.
