I fixed my ads problem. It was malware. My DNS was being unlocked and then maliciously changed. I had to restart into safe mode for Malware Bytes to fix it.

As long as networking was up, Malware Bytes couldn't touch it. I had to load into safe mode without networking for it to fix it

Malware Bytes is a pretty good program that should be approachable by everyone.

I might run a bunch of full scans when i get home and pretend i know what im doing when i delete the adware tracking cookies

It's best to do full scans in safe mode. It's tricky to get into it. You have to hold shift while clicking restart from the menu, then go to advanced options and startup options. When you get another menu after it's shut down, use just normal safe mode, not safe mode with networking. But open up Malware Bytes and update it first before you restart into safe mode because you won't be able to when you get into safe mode.
