Also, just to plop one cent in, is there really a lot of math going on with Celsius and Fahrenheit in daily life?
and we shall rule the galaxy as father and whatever
it depends what you'd need the math for
Oh, sure. I'm sure it is useful in some places...
2.5 cm is 1 inch I think
if you're a pseudo-smartass like me you'd probably like to overcomplicate simple things just so your spaghetti doesn't boil a second longer
well as celcious is moslty a range between -4 and 40 as air tempature in daily use
it really just easier
if you work in a field that requires it having celsius is handy
Anyone else use the metric system???
Right, but if you're a lazy smartass like me, you figure the spaghetti can take it so you can keep reading a book.
if not then farenheit is marginally more convenient but it's not hard to realize that 40's hot as fuck anything with - is not
I mean, I learned both systems in homeschooling, but after the grade of like 9...it stopped coming up.
In the uk anything above 12 is a blessing
yeah
just like you have the already rather mandatory scale of 0-100 you can set a new scale of -10 to 40
in the netherlands aswell
And life has never demanded me to remember it or bushels or pecks, or even gallons.
C is better for water, F is better for air. That's one way to look at it.
i dont think its better for air
Did you ask air?
because the range of air temperature doesnt really differ alot
I believe sciencemen use kelvin for stuff like oxygen liqueification
60 degree C range
In the uk schools they nvr taught us anything that didnt use the metric system in maths, science etc
ye
Do you think that's because they are closed-minded or because they're still a bit sore about losing the war?
Hmmmm
Good question
Both?
probably the fact that europe has a metric standard
A post modern answer, I like it.
Metric system is easier tbh
yeah certainly easier to learn
you multiply or divide by 10 ezpz
Maybe that's why they brexited. They wanted the Imperial system.
You weirdos weighing stuff in ounces
yeah and grains
grains, ounces, stones, pounds, tons
Maybe that's the problem. The metric system just doesn't sound sexy enough.
