2017-03-28 12:04:31 UTC

What're hormones like when you start them?

2017-03-28 12:04:32 UTC

@Error bye again!

2017-03-28 12:04:35 UTC

They'll just have to adapt

2017-03-28 12:04:37 UTC

idk if this is weird but... i learned to deal with dysphoria really well? and i feel like im ok and im frankly rlly happy with my body how it is now? like appearing masculine and everythin im h o t : ' )

2017-03-28 12:04:53 UTC

Actually it's not something you can just notice right away.

2017-03-28 12:05:11 UTC

Hormones just start a second puberty. Did you notice changes instantly during your original puberty?

2017-03-28 12:05:17 UTC

No, it took time and it was gradual.

2017-03-28 12:05:27 UTC

Changes will be noticed over time, not within the first 24 hours.

2017-03-28 12:05:39 UTC

not only that but most trans women start T blockers before estrogen

2017-03-28 12:06:14 UTC

I went on a starter dose for both. And the anti-androgen worked way better than we expected so we kept that dose and doubled the estrogen.

2017-03-28 12:06:15 UTC

Haven't even started first puberty.

2017-03-28 12:06:20 UTC

I get tested again at the end of may.

2017-03-28 12:06:51 UTC

if you're 13 you just started

2017-03-28 12:07:46 UTC

@Princey it's great that your happy with your body btw

2017-03-28 12:10:09 UTC

Haven't noticed anything, voice is still the same, no body hair, only 4 ft 5.

2017-03-28 12:10:32 UTC

I am only intimately familiar with how it works for trans females. Not trans males. For trans females:
One of the first things that happen is random boners will stop. You will start getting breast growth, but how much depends on your genetics. Over several months your skin will start to soften and any acne you have will start clearing up and be prevented. Over a year or so, body and facial hair will slow down in growth. Some people will have some body hair revert to fine, short white hairs you can barely see. But facial hair never will and will have to be removed. If you have started balding within the last three years, it'll reverse. But any hairs lost more than three years previously will be gone forever. And then there will be some emotional changes that are impossible to predict and will vary from person to person. Your belly will no longer collect fat like a magnet, and instead the breast and hips areas will collect most of your fat instead. And most severely, over about a year, your muscles will drop in mass by quite a lot.

2017-03-28 12:10:35 UTC

Really insecure about my height and voice box.

2017-03-28 12:11:02 UTC

You'll also lose a tiny bit of height, not much but maybe an inch or so, because your hips will reorient.

2017-03-28 12:11:31 UTC

If you are still in your teens, your hip bones could change shape. If you're much older than that, they're fused and all they'll do is rotate.

2017-03-28 12:12:12 UTC

Fascinating.

2017-03-28 12:13:08 UTC

Looks like becoming Trans won't be my kinda thing 'cause of how much I hate my height. Lol

2017-03-28 12:13:19 UTC

question, do trans women stay on estrogen the rest of their life? or are they able to stop without their body reverting back after a being on it for awhile?

2017-03-28 12:13:36 UTC

Rest of your life.

2017-03-28 12:13:47 UTC

If you stop, your bones will start to... um... fall apart.

2017-03-28 12:14:05 UTC

( @XenaGaia ty ❤ )

2017-03-28 12:14:05 UTC

That's why older post-menopause women have that happen to them because it's the same thing, not enough estrogen.

2017-03-28 12:14:17 UTC

ah okay

2017-03-28 12:14:24 UTC

That's why we have these meds available, they were originally made to supplement post-menopause women.
