It tried really hard to screw with Korra. That's why that show did not reach its full potential. Nick wouldn't let them have full length seasons, and they refused to buy more than a season at a time making it clear each time they had no intention to keep renewing it. So they had to compress several seasons' worth of content into each season. And then they screwed with the airing, and didn't promote it, and then anti-climactically canceled it.

But now I'm fine with it

I went to anime 'cause cartoons around my childhood didn't really get my attention as much as they do now.

I will always prefer cartoons, because they always have this large variety of artstyle, yet anime always looks the same.

I kind of find it hard to watch children's shows now

Only cartoons I liked where Ben 10, Ben 10 Alien Force, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Samurai Jack and Transformers.

Anime was like an escape from pop culture for me.

Avatar is amazing. And Korra...... well, I think they did exceptionally well considering the amount of exectuive meddling it was subjected to. Just keep in mind it's not as good as it had the potential to be because of that meddling so don't judge its problems too harshly.
