In reality the president can't just nuke at will. All he can do is give final authorization to launch. He can't fire them on his own.

My favourite show was made decades before I was born.

A lot of people, probably Trump himself too, mistakenly believe that the president has total control over the nukes and can use them on a whim all by himself because of all the movies with nukes when the president has to authorize the launch. That's not how it works at all. All the president does is give final authorization. they can't order the launch.
