I feel that the big factor to this is not the hype shit from a few years ago, not the No Mans Sky's or that

The main factor came way before that even began

When gaming became open to casuals

Now I know that sounds really cliched

Yeah, i prefer a real game

But what I mean by that, is that casuals are in the teen phase now

I miss the GameCube days

Most gamers are casuals

So they have that "Fuck the big man" communist mentality

Gamecube/PS2 days of gaming were THE shit

It's a cycle, Gamers fought against the people who said gaming was bad

Notice how I didn't mention Xbox

Cuz no one owned an original Xbox

And caused violence

Gamers basically ended up winning

Casuals flooded in as an effect

Now we have a shitshow

I think the opposite. The Young ones are the majority of fan boys and pre order games.

Catering to Casul gamers for profits did drive down innovation. Young people are 'reliable' consumers. Which means naïve, btw.
