I grew up in a rural community. With hunters everywhere. Sights like that are commonplace and no one thinks anything of it.
One autumn we had a deer hanging in our garage for a week or so drying out before we got it butchered. Our dog we let outside through the garage, he would get out through the dog door in the garage to the back yard. He would just sit there, sitting down, staring up with it drooling even though he knew it was out of his reach and he'd stay there for hours staring at it.
The animals are humanely killed. So what with what's done after? They're dead. they can't feel it. That picture there is the pig being drained of its blood. It's quite dead and it's not being "totured" to death.
