I almost did that recently. Only drew a little blood, now I make sure to not eat until all the Novacaine wears off.

There's no way to get an actual chunk of your lip off by accident. You'd still feel the pulling. What happens instead is accidently biting off some of the dead skin on top that's not ready to come off, so there isn't enough new skin under it, so you bleed.

If it's way, way too soon, there'll be a lot of blood and it'll look bad.

The lip has the thinnest skin on your body. There is not much there.

Well, I realized I was trying to bite into my lip because it was not easy to bite through like the food I was eating so I stopped and checked, just a little blood.
