Do to the Designs complexity it is not a cheap Vessel, coming in at £800 million Per vessel. this has lead the MOD and the Royal Navy to Placed a bid out between the different Defence companies for a new design (one not designed by BAE systems) called Type 31e.Type 31e will cost £250 million per vessel, making it the cheapest warship on the market, appealing to budgeted and well funded navies alike.
