It was inevitable as it was. Ads were getting more and more annoying, so more people adblocked. Then the WSF and other old media sites got obsessed with taking down new media and it was inevitable they'd hit them where it hurt, the ads. And Google never has been rational with how they deal with problems, always, ***ALWAYS*** overreacting and shooting themselves in the foot.

It's almost essential unfortunately. Because in the real world, advertisers and websites don't give a shit about the quality of their ads or where they show up. Leading a lot of it to be infected with malware. You dont' use adblock, you risk getting a lot of viruses, malware, and adware.
