Banded geckos are the ancient cousin of the leopard gecko

Native to North America

From Costa Rica to Texas and California

Mines a Central American

Which is of course tropical

But the Texas species is arid

They’re essentially tiny leopard geckos

Cave geckos are from Asia

And use to be considered leopard geckos

But were reclassified in 1990 something

So they’re their own thing
