Ah

2018-08-28 03:36:47 UTC

Then if you wanted you could do every 3rd feeding

2018-08-28 03:36:50 UTC

You dust with

2018-08-28 03:36:58 UTC

Just to prevent any possible mbd

2018-08-28 03:37:04 UTC

Since my aunt and uncle pay for the supplies, I can only ask for so much

2018-08-28 03:37:06 UTC

Mbd is a greater threat than overdose

2018-08-28 03:37:08 UTC

Ahh

2018-08-28 03:37:10 UTC

I get you

2018-08-28 03:37:33 UTC

One more suggestion

2018-08-28 03:37:43 UTC

She does love her worms though

2018-08-28 03:37:54 UTC

I wouldn’t use pure sand as a substrate

2018-08-28 03:38:03 UTC

It’s very loose and easily swallowed by accident

2018-08-28 03:38:06 UTC

When chasing a cricket

2018-08-28 03:38:19 UTC

It’s a very gradual buildup

2018-08-28 03:38:26 UTC

That can cause impaction

2018-08-28 03:38:33 UTC

If you wanted you could do a sand mix

2018-08-28 03:38:42 UTC

Sand/organic top soil sand/ ecoearth

2018-08-28 03:38:44 UTC

Esc

2018-08-28 03:38:49 UTC

It’s not a big deal

2018-08-28 03:38:55 UTC

If you tong feed or bowl feedb

2018-08-28 03:38:58 UTC

It avoids any risks

2018-08-28 03:39:55 UTC

Yeah. I get that a lot. I've owned 4 Leo's, including kakarot and none of them are the sand. Also, that's part of the reason we feed every couple of days, so the sand that she may ingest can pass safely

2018-08-28 03:40:05 UTC

She hates tongs

2018-08-28 03:40:22 UTC

ah

2018-08-28 03:40:25 UTC

And she likes to chase her food

2018-08-28 03:40:35 UTC

I spent a few months training my leopard and leachie gecko to tong feed insects

2018-08-28 03:40:40 UTC

My banded and cave gecko refuse to

2018-08-28 03:40:43 UTC

They’re way to shy

2018-08-28 03:41:29 UTC

I’m hoping I can squeeze 20 years out of my leopard gecko

2018-08-28 03:41:36 UTC

I got her at about 1-2 years old. She was under weight and was living on bark substrate. Once I gave her sand, she was soooo active

2018-08-28 03:42:09 UTC

He has uvb/bioactive enclosure I monitor his weight weekly and give him a variety of diet

2018-08-28 03:42:15 UTC

So the bitch better live 20 years

2018-08-28 03:42:20 UTC

Or I will be severely disappointed

2018-08-28 03:42:22 UTC

lol

2018-08-28 03:43:26 UTC

Also, I do use calc sand. And I completely remove everything and thoroughly sift and turn the sand about every 6 months. Though I think I need to change the sand out completely and put in fresh

2018-08-28 03:43:40 UTC

Wow there

2018-08-28 03:43:41 UTC

Okay

2018-08-28 03:43:44 UTC

Uh

2018-08-28 03:43:50 UTC

I highly advise against calci sand

2018-08-28 03:44:24 UTC

A it’s highly unnatural b it’s the leading cause of impaction c it physically can’t be passed
