All we had for sex ed was this long ass video on puberty

I had sex ed in 5th grade

And in 8th grade we had a 50 page long packet on abstinence, but once i was a freshman illinois changed their laws so now they have to teach about birth control instead

also... about sex ed, in 4th grade they taught my school anal, ... they didnt talk about actual sex till like 7th grade for some reason

We talked about it pretty early on

lol in high school, during sex ed, they had a huge abstinence campain, and i got in trouble cus the teacher said that abstinence is the only 100% way to avoid pregnancy, then i shouted out "what about vasectamies bitch"

Im glad they stopped the abstinence thing in illinois

The board of edu didnt let anyone talk about birth control or condoms or anything except abstinence. Like, if you did the entire school got in trouble

And then the conservative members of the board left and they changed the laws for sex ed

Abstinence is not a healthy way to control our sexaul behavior. It's just stupid! Fuck I'm asexaul and I agree teaching about birth control and safe sex. Sexaul surprresion is not good.

Now they get in trouble if they DONT talk about that stuff, which is a million times better

one nice thing they did do is give locations of birth control clinics around my area to all the girls

Lmao there was a time where i couldnt get in to see my doc to get another prescription for birth control pills so i had to go to planned parenthood (it was the only clinic near me at the time) and there were so many damn protesters

That school that gave that information out about the clinics. That's awesome. People need to know their options

if you show them the outlet to help them incase they fuck up, they will be more likely to research

the clinics are really helpful tho, and the ones in my area keep secret pretty well

Birth control isn't just for birth control. It can help balance out hormones, lighten periods. I had a friend who had to take birth control because she had health issues and she would bleed to death if she doesn't take them. Sadly one of her religious cult friends shames her for it
