yeah the ps1 made that when you put in a pirated game

it was intended to scare people from pirating

but the thing is

really? cause all our games were pirated haha

if you put in a scratched or unreadable disk, you would get the same thing

and on xbox we got our xbox " chipped" ti would get that red ring so we could play pirated games

first time i ever got an error like that was at my friends house playing san andreas

he was putting in cheats and crashed the game

when we restarted we got the red screen

we've never been so scared

we still talk about how fucked that was

we unplugged it until his brother came back because we were too scared to figure out what was wrong with it

it's been like 15 + years since i have had a ps1 so i don't remember, maybe it truamatised me so much that my brain hid it from my memories
