For a gaming/streaming build, should I go for the i5-8400 6-core, or the i7-8700 6-core?
I’m aware that streaming games is CPU-core intensive (so is PCSX2, but I digress) so +6-cores are supposedly the way to go, but the only ones I can find that don’t break the bank are 8th-gen, which is its own basket of fish.
What I need to know is which performs better for its heat output. I saw the rewiews on the i7, and one guy compared his PC to a 3000$ heater, everyone else saying that they had to go overboard on cooling, but the i5 has no such problems. The downside of the i5 would be that it wouldn’t handle video or image editing software as well, or at least I’ve been told that the i7 is superior for that.
Or would an 8th gen i3 6-core split the difference for half the price of even the i5?
Trolling is getting weak. :/
lol
@Maxsimodem Get Ryzen
I think trolling is the last form of warfare left on the planet.
depends if you are video editing or image editing consistently along with gaming/streaming if so then yes go for the i7 the main difference between the i7 and the i5 is the i5 is 6 threads while that i7 is 12 threads so if you do video editing image editing and streaming/gaming go with the i7 other than that there's not a huge difference between either @Maxsimodem
Just get ryzen nig
yes
Intel is poo poo
im just answering his question
@33 thank you, I will take that into account, but Ryzen is off the table.
AMD’a phenom II isn’t impressing me with running Facebook and YouTube on windows 7, let alone the games.
God, the games...
Have you ever tried to blow up ships at point blank range when you are looking at the same frame for 20 seconds, viewing that 20 seconds worth of frames in less than one second and then a bit of stability before rinse and repeat?
Not
Fun
lol
I do not have a good opinion of AMD...
amd processors better than graphics
I hope you’re joking, considering that CPUs and GPUs take on different roles entirely when in the same machine.
GPUs handle the graphics so the CPU doesn’t have to handle the program actually running and hauling over the texture files at the same time, at least as I understand it.
i meant that amd makes better processors than what they make for gpus and i know they have different roles
