Now would anyone mind if I asked about CPUs, specifically 8th-gen?
For a gaming/streaming build, should I go for the i5-8400 6-core, or the i7-8700 6-core?
I’m aware that streaming games is CPU-core intensive (so is PCSX2, but I digress) so +6-cores are supposedly the way to go, but the only ones I can find that don’t break the bank are 8th-gen, which is its own basket of fish.
What I need to know is which performs better for its heat output. I saw the rewiews on the i7, and one guy compared his PC to a 3000$ heater, everyone else saying that they had to go overboard on cooling, but the i5 has no such problems. The downside of the i5 would be that it wouldn’t handle video or image editing software as well, or at least I’ve been told that the i7 is superior for that.
Or would an 8th gen i3 6-core split the difference for half the price of even the i5?
