I think that the problem with man is his biological instinct and inclination towards "the good". Personally, I think "the good" is largely a mental construct/subjective and personal and has little to nothing to do with objective reality. In my personal opinion, nothing is truly "good" or "bad" due to Tarski's paradox. Everything that exists only does so as an end in itself. "Good" and "bad" are labels we apply to things which make us uncomfortable or give us pleasure, which means that it's more of an impulse to feel rather than an actual thing.
