@Everyone's Mother Stephen Universe hypes up boss fights with people who are no more than people with questionable goals, Bismuth in particular was at most a James Bond villain who had a revenge lust for home world for screwing them over. Meanwhile, Stephen feels the need to coddle up to the Diamonds despite them being genocidal maniacs that rule with an iron fist.
That is so much of a mixed message it’s not even funny, the idea that someone who has personally wronged you deserves to choke that much more than a thinly veiled Nazi dressed as a colourful Darth Vader is a dangerous idea.
I’ll send you a DM with a link to an OP;ED on the whole show, but suffice to say I’d rather they have done a redemption arc for Lapis or Bismuth rather than Yellow, Blue, Pink or even White diamond.
