Hot take: The Exorcicism of Emily Rose is a better movie than The Exorcist.
The original exorcists isn't even scary
Setting fear aside
Exorcism of Emily Rose is a better movie.
It's kind of like
You feel as if it were made by two different directors
It's been a while since I've seen it
But in a good way instead of weird and choppy
Half horror movie, half courtroom drama.
Was Emily Rose posessed, or did she just have some extreme form of epilepsy? **MOVIES, BITCH**
Cabin in the woods is one of my favorite horror movies
Moreover
Exorcism of Emily Rose has the actress who played Tali'Zorah's aunt in Mass Effect.
Was the Emily Rose one based on a true story?
Yes.
And it's all but confirmed by diagnosis that the real girl had epilepsy.
I actually listened to a podcast about the whole exorcism.
Epilepsy made her acted possessed?
They even brought on an ex-catholic priest who didn't believe demonic posession is a real thing, rather a primitive explanation for mental illness, but he saw a potential mental health validity to the ritual act of an exorcism as a treatment.
It's wierd.
That's some intense epilepsy
I've never seen a patient seize and act possessed.
There were times where she would just stand up and sit down over and over
Whew.
For hours on end
She did this so frequently she fucking wore out the cartilage in her knees.
She was still a small child at the time.
Like, 14?
Poor thing
If you listen to the recordings of her exorcism... the ones with subtitles (Sorry, I don't speak foreign.)
"I don't speak foreign" lol
When the priest asks her about the demons in her, It's kind of clear that she's... just pulling names she knows, I guess?
Like, the priests asks "Who is in this girl?"
And she just starts listing names she knows as evil, being a German girl with a religious upringing.
Without hesitation, she throws out "Hitler.... Judas!"
Then she waits a minute and shouts "STALIN!"
The people at my work are fucking stupid
Want to know the worst thing about this story?
Yes
And same @Everyone's Mother
