I read a book by merc recently, about how approach of western armies is inherently flawed from the lowest level in modern conflict. Where they need explosive power they focus on endurance and so on. The book was written in late 80s but its still applicable to Lith forces, and from what Ive seen, same with burger ones

its peak cringe to be trained with what amounts to constant logistic support in mind even when larping some sort of supply issue, and still getting meal 3 times a day xD

2019-10-11 22:24:11 UTC

^
why do people even larp about that

2019-10-11 22:40:11 UTC

@Parabellum Yeah I know I have been trying my hardest so far

2019-10-11 22:40:21 UTC

I cant do much yet but its getting better every day

2019-10-11 22:40:33 UTC

2019-10-12 00:45:45 UTC

@Parabellum Im probably joining as an officer

2019-10-12 00:46:20 UTC

Since Im joining after university, and here once you have a degree yoi just complete the basic academy training and you become an officer

2019-10-12 07:03:48 UTC

Nobody likes "vitamins" mate

2019-10-12 07:11:22 UTC

Vitamins? @Parabellum

2019-10-12 07:13:03 UTC

Guys who get commision without attending the full academy course

2019-10-12 07:13:33 UTC

In burgeria its ROTC but iirc ROTC was more decent than most countries courses for this

2019-10-12 07:13:43 UTC

Oh ok

2019-10-12 07:13:57 UTC

Always when you say burgeria I see Bulgaria lol

2019-10-12 07:14:04 UTC

Tl;dr neither your troops nor your superiors respect you, so good luck foing your job xD

2019-10-12 07:14:51 UTC

lol

2019-10-12 07:14:58 UTC

I want to be in artillery

2019-10-12 07:15:55 UTC

Why

2019-10-12 07:16:08 UTC

I’ve always had a fascination with it

2019-10-12 07:16:20 UTC

I can always change what I want though

2019-10-12 07:16:27 UTC

I still have do do more research

2019-10-12 07:18:38 UTC

If thats your thing go for it

2019-10-12 07:19:19 UTC

Tho if you want to draw some useful experience for whatever from it post service, I dunno what is there really as an arty man

2019-10-12 11:13:17 UTC

@Parabellum I have to do the academy course

2019-10-12 11:13:25 UTC

I mentioned that above

2019-10-12 11:13:42 UTC

4 years?

2019-10-12 11:13:51 UTC

I think its 3 here

2019-10-12 11:14:20 UTC

People here do it along with uni so Im guessing its 3 years

2019-10-12 11:14:37 UTC

so you would actually attend military academy?

2019-10-12 11:14:41 UTC

after uni already?

2019-10-12 11:18:04 UTC

I guess thats how it works

2019-10-12 11:18:23 UTC

I know you can do it at the same time but I also know you can skip the academy

2019-10-12 11:18:44 UTC

Or I can also just join as a soldier

2019-10-12 11:19:15 UTC

@httphey I want to go to arty too

2019-10-12 11:19:20 UTC

Either that or a tanker

2019-10-12 11:21:01 UTC

if you skip academy your underlings and superiors will look down on you

2019-10-12 11:21:52 UTC

I also dont see why youd want to be either artillerist or tanker as I said before. Not exactly career with a lot of transferable skills

2019-10-12 11:22:28 UTC

I dont think you can skip the academy you can just skip smoe parts of the academy

2019-10-12 11:22:32 UTC

infantry is cool

2019-10-12 11:22:47 UTC

Like the ones that dont relate to the military

2019-10-12 11:23:46 UTC

I'm probably gonna go for standard infantry or mechanized.
