People dont request salvation out of nowhere, people ask for God to aid them achieve their goals
thats a generalisation and from my experience a wrong one
maybe its different in Portugal
At least I ask God to help me achieve things more than just giving them
That sounds like a liberal gripe with Christianity "it's too legalistic"
It really shouldn't be legalistic
I only asl for things I cant directly controll
Lile strenght of will
Health
Forgivness for my sins and the will to correct them
Ect ect ect
You also have to go to confession for forgiveness
Which gets a lot of people
Protestants did away with that idea
I havent confessed in a while
That you need to go to confession
But it is important
if its a ordered faith like Christianity, ofc I have a fucking gripe if something that it preaches isnt actually done properly in the organisation
I think that its important but I dont see God sending you to hell because you didnt confess
Maybe Im wrong
Christianity recognizes that humans are sinners. Original sin is a crucial concept that even Protestants believe in
also >forgiveness
thats also gay af. You can't stand to be judged for your actions that you did on your own accord? Woah nellie
Its just my opinion after all I cant speak in the name of God
?
what are we debating
God knows if you truly want forgiveness or not
@Mankn II your church speaks for you
@Parabellum thats litteraly being judged
Tbh
The fear of hell did delay me from convetting
Punishment doesnt mean you werent forgiven
being judged is fine, asking for forgivenes is not
He's argument is correct from my experiance
@Pelkių monstras how does the fear of hell stop you from converting
it should be the other way round
the fear of hell makes you convert
@Parabellum God is the father, he will punish you for your sins, but you still ask for forgivness like you would to your family
@Veritas twas born a christian no longer am 😉
pretty stupid @Pelkių monstras
it was a good decision. Sadly I was retarded(well still am) when I did it.
There are many people that clearly claim to follow Christianity who clearly contradict it. This is true about every religion though
Can we stop with the religious talk
