cringe religion argument

one of my biggest gripes with christianity for the longest time (that is way before I even became nazi) was that every kind of rule of christian god is enforced through fear of punishment.

All it does is make you learn to be conniving and a liar. You think all the hard punishments in the army make you do things exactly as your superiors tell you? Fuck no, you just learn how to jew the system so you don't get caught the second time. Sure with omnipresent god its different, but most people don't get struck down by lightning on the spot for bad deeds. After a while it doesnt even threaten anyone anymore. Medieval and even modern church reinforced this further by forgiving your sins if you repented.

And all the begging, and asking for forgiveness, for help, for hope? Always saw that as such a feminine thing. You beg instead of weathering the storm? Peak autism. No wonder so many of the older generations of church goers are women, its not just cause men die younger, is cause they are more likely to actually try to solve their issues than demand a heavenly deity to do all their job for them.

its kinda hard describing exactly what I feel about this cause Id rather be watching my movie rn and tbh my brain hasnt been working that well ever since I got conscripted, but I hope you faggots get the idea

People dont request salvation out of nowhere, people ask for God to aid them achieve their goals

2019-09-21 21:39:39 UTC

thats a generalisation and from my experience a wrong one

2019-09-21 21:39:49 UTC

maybe its different in Portugal

2019-09-21 21:40:26 UTC

At least I ask God to help me achieve things more than just giving them

2019-09-21 21:40:27 UTC

That sounds like a liberal gripe with Christianity "it's too legalistic"

2019-09-21 21:40:36 UTC

It really shouldn't be legalistic

2019-09-21 21:40:43 UTC

I only asl for things I cant directly controll

2019-09-21 21:40:48 UTC

Ect ect ect

2019-09-21 21:41:23 UTC

You also have to go to confession for forgiveness

2019-09-21 21:41:27 UTC

Which gets a lot of people

2019-09-21 21:41:40 UTC

Protestants did away with that idea

2019-09-21 21:41:44 UTC

I havent confessed in a while

2019-09-21 21:41:49 UTC

That you need to go to confession

2019-09-21 21:41:58 UTC

But it is important

2019-09-21 21:42:52 UTC

if its a ordered faith like Christianity, ofc I have a fucking gripe if something that it preaches isnt actually done properly in the organisation

2019-09-21 21:43:17 UTC

I think that its important but I dont see God sending you to hell because you didnt confess

2019-09-21 21:43:22 UTC

Maybe Im wrong

2019-09-21 21:43:24 UTC

Christianity recognizes that humans are sinners. Original sin is a crucial concept that even Protestants believe in

2019-09-21 21:43:33 UTC

also >forgiveness

thats also gay af. You can't stand to be judged for your actions that you did on your own accord? Woah nellie

2019-09-21 21:43:39 UTC

Its just my opinion after all I cant speak in the name of God

2019-09-21 21:43:47 UTC

2019-09-21 21:43:54 UTC

2019-09-21 21:43:56 UTC

2019-09-21 21:43:59 UTC

2019-09-21 21:43:59 UTC

2019-09-21 21:44:01 UTC

Tbh
The fear of hell did delay me from convetting

2019-09-21 21:44:10 UTC

Punishment doesnt mean you werent forgiven

2019-09-21 21:44:14 UTC

being judged is fine, asking for forgivenes is not

2019-09-21 21:44:14 UTC

He's argument is correct from my experiance

2019-09-21 21:44:20 UTC

@Pelkių monstras how does the fear of hell stop you from converting

2019-09-21 21:44:27 UTC

it should be the other way round

2019-09-21 21:44:31 UTC

the fear of hell makes you convert

2019-09-21 21:45:15 UTC

@Parabellum God is the father, he will punish you for your sins, but you still ask for forgivness like you would to your family
