My friend and I had an unwritten rule to not use Legendaries
and Mythicals
Ah, I haven't bought a Pokemon game in eight years and I still have my old DS Lite from 2007. Still works!
Black was the last one I played and then I was out of high school and had my own actual computer so I haven't messed with it as much
I do still love the old games, just not as much as I used to. I was an enormous sperg when it came to pokemon. I memorized the entire Sinnoh Pokedex, and naturally completed Hoenn in Emerald. Found a legit preorder Jirachi and everything. Ironically Roselia was the hardest, because it didn't appear naturally in Emerald.
Well with the region they're releasing next month we won't get the national dex this time around
F
and a lot of people aren't happy about it
and megas are sadly gone too
I stopped caring after fifth gen, so I don't really care about whether there's a national dex in the new one or not, because I remember at some point they made it hard or impossible to transfer pokers to future games, and I've been carrying my original parties from Emerald and FireRed and Diamond and my brother's party from Pearl and every single legendary and event poke from eight years worth of games, and I was already really disillusioned with the musical and graphical changes and I was already into Magic at the time in high school so I just stopped keeping current with all the consoles.
All my extensive collection is on Black now.
i have 100% the nat dex in gen 6
I normally don't transfer my pokemon from game to game anyways but the absolute *lies* they pedaled out for why pissed me off
why they cut the national dex*
Man do I sperg out when I talk about Pokemon. I really like the old games but the new ones are just all flashy with no substance.
Like, where the Shroomish?
A fungus-based poker that isn't just a traditional redcap would be nice
And that's what Shroomish was
Now everything's about fish and bugs and there's not a lot of really COOL environmentally-designed pokers
I just want a dynamic stat-based genetic system with impact on movepool and phenotypical appearance
i dont want a change to how pokemon works
So like, a golem with a 31IV defense stat has bigger rock chunks
the battle systom is fine as it is
The Telefang style battle system Gen II was supposed to use is so much better
Like, if you didn't choose something that was good against Roxanne in RSE, you had to go find a Shroomish and use its energy drain to beat the gym leader.
And every route had some unique 5% chance rare poke
like RALTS
that was the SHIT
every route had something cool to it in its encounters
some pokers were the rarest of all
It was a joy to explore
That did end up being its own downfall for things like milotic though
But that's the point!
Milotic isn't supposed to be easy to get
There had to be some pokers that were really difficult to evolve
But in recent years, or generations, there's nothing special or rare to find, it's just some 60/40 or 70/30 curiosity like Darumaka. That was underwhelming as hell.
But nothing can beat the feeling of finding a Chimecho on Mt. Pyre for the first time.
Or an Absol or a Tropius, that's the pimpest of all HM slaves.
Milotic is a UU tier that could take literal months to obtain due to how stupid the feebas spawn rates were in G4
People didn't like that they went that overboard and so they made things simpler with the rest of the game
